Dreck am Stecken is a punk-rock band from Hamburg City in Germany.

In 2004, five people joined together to form a punk-rock band after finding each other on the Internet. They met and quickly realized they were searching for the same thing musically. It was at that moment that the band was born.

The members include: Niels (vocals), Mario (drums, vocals), Kalle (bass), Andi (guitar, vocals), Hensch (second guitarist). The influences of music differ for each member of the band, but somehow their tastes came together to form a fresh, explosive and vibrant mixture. The band has a sound similar to 80s and 90s German punk-rock with unusual melodies, singing political, society-critical sensitive lyrics with sense and understanding.

In November 2004, D.A.S. went to the K-Klang Studio to record the first demo CD “Schachmatt” that contained four tracks and soon after played their first gig.

2005 brought change for D.A.S. Hensch, the second guitarist, decided to leave the band due to musical differences. To this day, Hensch still remain friends with D.A.S. and operates the band’s homepage. D.A.S. searched for a new second guitarist, but had no luck in finding one. Even though they currently play with one guitarist, the band’s sound has actually become stronger & more unique, consequently heading in the direction of what D.A.S was searching for originally.

2006 was a much better year for D.A.S! We spent two weeks at Klang Studio and recorded seventeen tracks. D.A.S. searched for a record label then, but was unable to secure one. When the band decided to do it alone, Dreck-Rec was born. On their own label, in 2007, D.A.S. released their first CD “Manipulation auf allen Kanlen”. Dreck am Stecken has since played a number of gigs with many more to come in the future!!
